Privacy Policy

MagicBook ("MagicBook", "we", "us") creates personalized children's storybooks at book.aimagic.com. We know the information you share with us — especially a photo of your child — is precious. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is written to respect children's-privacy rules such as the U.S. COPPA and the EU/UK GDPR.

Parents & guardians only. MagicBook is intended to be used by an adult (a parent or guardian). By uploading a child's photo you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or have their permission, and that you consent to us using the photo to create your storybook as described below.

What we collect

The photo you upload — a picture of your child, used to illustrate them as the hero of the book.
Details you enter — the child's first name and the story/template you choose.
Account & contact — your email address (to save your library and send your book).
Payment information — handled entirely by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Basic usage data — standard technical logs (e.g. requests, errors) to keep the service running and secure.

How we use it

To generate your personalized storybook and show it to you.
To save your book to your library and email you a link to it.
To take payment for a subscription and provide customer support.
To keep MagicBook safe, working, and improving.

We do not sell your data or your child's photo, and we do not use them for advertising.

How your child's photo is handled

To turn the photo into illustrations, it is processed by trusted AI image providers on our behalf — currently ByteDance (Seedream, via fal.ai) and Google (Gemini). They process the image only to generate your artwork under their terms and are not permitted to use it to build unrelated products. Payments are processed by Stripe, and our site, storage and email run on Amazon Web Services. The uploaded photo is stored privately, outside the public web, and is used only to create your books.

How long we keep it & deleting your data

We keep your account, books, and the uploaded photo while your account is active so you can return to your library. You can delete your account, your books, and your child's photo yourself at any time: on the web, open your library and choose "Delete account"; in the app, open your library and choose "Delete my account". You can also email privacy@aimagic.com and we will do it for you. Deletion is immediate and can't be undone — the photo and the generated images are removed from our systems along with the account.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact privacy@aimagic.com. If you are in the EU/UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Cookies & local storage

We use your browser's local storage to remember your sign-in and your library, and essential cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Children's privacy

MagicBook is operated for adults creating gifts for children. We only collect a child's photo and first name, provided by a parent/guardian, and only to make the book. We do not knowingly let children create accounts or contact us directly. If you believe a child has provided us information without a guardian's involvement, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy as MagicBook grows. We'll post the new date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know.
